Porta Potty Rental FAQ for Oklahoma City

Straight answers to 101 questions Oklahoma City renters ask about delivery, price, cleaning, placement, payment and permits. Each answer starts with the fact you need.

Delivery and timing

Do you deliver to my area?

We deliver across Oklahoma City and towns within about 80 miles, including Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Mustang, Shawnee, Chickasha, Guthrie and Stillwater. Enter your ZIP on the service area page for an instant answer.

Where are you located? Are you local?

Curtis Rental Works is owner-run from a yard on the south side of Oklahoma City, near I-35 and I-240. Our own trucks and drivers deliver and service every unit. We are not a broker.

Can you bring a porta potty today?

Same-day delivery is available across the Oklahoma City metro when you call before noon. Outer towns get same-day service when a truck is already routed nearby.

What if I call after noon?

Orders after noon usually go out first thing the next morning. In a true emergency, call anyway and we will check whether a truck can still fit you in.

Can you get it here within two hours?

Routes shift with traffic and other stops, so dispatch gives a window rather than an exact time. Most same-day metro orders arrive in the afternoon, and the driver calls about 30 minutes out.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Saturday deliveries run when booked before noon. Sunday is not a regular delivery day. Weekend events get a Friday drop-off and a Monday pickup so nobody waits on a weekend truck.

Can you drop it off Friday and pick it up Monday?

Friday drop-off and Monday pickup is our standard plan for weekend events, and the extra days cost nothing.

Can you drop it off Saturday morning and pick it up Saturday night?

Same-day drop and pickup ties up a truck all day, so it costs more than the free Friday-to-Monday plan. Most hosts choose the longer window.

My event is on a Wednesday. When does it arrive?

Weekday event units arrive the business day before and leave the business day after, at no extra charge.

Can it be there by a set time, like before a 3 pm party?

Event units arrive the day before, so timing on the event day is never a worry. For same-day orders, tell us the deadline and dispatch will plan around it.

Do I need to be there for delivery or pickup?

Nobody needs to be home. Mark the spot with a cone, flag or ribbon, share any gate code, and the driver texts when the unit is placed.

Will the driver call before arriving?

Drivers call or text about 30 minutes before arrival when you ask, and always when a gate or access question comes up.

How far ahead should I book?

Standard units can often go out the same day. Book ADA units about a week ahead and restroom trailers 2 to 8 weeks ahead for spring and fall Saturdays.

Do you book up on holiday weekends?

Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and October weekends book early. Call at least a week ahead for those dates.

My other company did not show up. Can you get a unit out today?

Call before noon with the address, and a clean unit can usually be on site the same day in the metro.

Can you deliver to a field or land without an address?

Drivers deliver to map pins all the time. Text the pin, describe the gate and road, and mention if a 4x4 is needed after rain.

Pricing and fees

How much does it cost to rent a porta potty?

A standard unit starts at $165 for an event weekend or $175 per 28 days with weekly service in the Oklahoma City metro. See the full price guide.

How much is it for just one day?

One-day events use the event price, starting at $165 for a standard unit. The unit still arrives the day before and leaves the day after.

Do you rent by the hour?

Units rent by the event or by the 28-day cycle, not by the hour. A 4-hour party and a 2-day event both use the event price.

Is delivery included?

Delivery and pickup inside the Oklahoma City metro are part of the quote. Towns farther out may add a travel charge, shown as its own line.

Is the delivery charge per unit or per order?

Any travel charge is per trip, not per unit. Five units on one truck cost the same trip as one.

Does the price include pickup, cleaning and disposal?

Pickup and waste disposal are always included. Weekly cleaning is included on 28-day rentals. Event units arrive clean and are serviced at pickup.

Is that price per day or for the whole time?

Event prices cover the whole event window, Friday to Monday for weekends. Long-term prices cover each 28-day cycle.

Will the total change at checkout?

The total on your itemized quote is the total you pay. Fuel, environmental and card fees are not added at checkout.

Is sales tax included?

Sales tax shows as its own line. Inside Oklahoma City the combined rate is 8.625%. Rates differ in other towns.

Is there a removal fee at the end?

Pickup is part of the quote. There is no separate removal fee.

Can I get a ballpark price without giving my address?

A ZIP code is enough for a close estimate, because distance sets part of the price. The full address is only needed to book.

Do you give discounts for several units?

Orders of 5 or more units get a lower per-unit price. Ask for the multi-unit rate when you call.

Do you have a contractor or account rate?

Builders with several job sites or long rentals can set up an account with one invoice and a lower per-unit rate.

Do churches and nonprofits get tax exemption?

Tax-exempt churches, schools, nonprofits and agencies pay no sales tax once they send an exemption certificate before delivery.

Why does a deluxe unit cost more than a standard one?

A deluxe unit has a flush system, a sink and fresh-water tanks that need filling and more cleaning time at each service.

Is it cheaper to keep a unit all month than for a weekend?

A weekend event costs less than a 28-day cycle. For anything longer than about a week, the 28-day rate is the better deal.

Billing cycle and long-term rentals

How does 28-day billing work?

Long-term units bill every 28 days, not each calendar month. Each cycle includes 4 weekly services. The first cycle also covers delivery.

If I only need it for two weeks, do I pay for 28 days?

Long-term rentals bill per 28-day cycle, so 2 weeks and 4 weeks cost the same. A short event of a few days uses the lower event price instead.

Do you prorate the last cycle?

Cycles are not prorated. Billing stops on the day of pickup, and no new cycle starts after that.

When do you charge my card?

The first cycle is charged at booking. Later cycles are charged on the same day every 28 days until pickup.

Do you pick it up automatically?

Event units are picked up on the scheduled day. Long-term units stay until you call or text for pickup, so billing does not stop until you ask.

Can I extend my rental?

Long-term units extend on their own. Event rentals can be extended by calling before the pickup day.

Do you have a rate for six months or a year?

Rentals of 6 months or longer get a lower cycle rate. Ask for the long-term price.

Units and equipment

What kinds of porta potties do you rent?

We rent standard units, deluxe flushing units with sinks, ADA wheelchair-accessible units, hand washing stations, restroom trailers and towable porta potty trailers. Compare them on the unit comparison page.

What is the difference between standard and deluxe?

A standard unit has a toilet, urinal and hand sanitizer. A deluxe unit adds a foot-pedal flush, a foot-pump sink and a mirror.

Do you have a flushing porta potty?

The deluxe flushing unit has a foot-pedal flush and a sink, with no hookups needed.

Do you have a handicap or ADA porta potty?

Our ADA units are wheelchair-accessible with a ground-level floor, grab bars and a 60-inch turning space.

Is the ADA unit flushable or does it have a sink?

The ADA unit has hand sanitizer but no flush or sink. Add a hand washing station for soap and water.

Do you have hand washing stations?

Two-sink foot-pump hand washing stations rent alone or with toilets, filled with water, soap and paper towels.

Do you have restroom trailers?

Our restroom trailers have flush toilets, sinks, lights and A/C, with separate men's and women's sides.

Does a standard unit come with toilet paper and sanitizer?

Every unit arrives with two rolls of toilet paper and a full sanitizer dispenser. Weekly service restocks both.

Can I pick the color?

Colors depend on what is in the yard that day. If color matters for photos, ask when you book and we will do our best.

Do the units lock?

Each door locks from inside. A hasp and padlock can be added for units left in public places overnight.

Do you sell porta potties?

We rent units only. We do not sell new or used porta potties.

Do you have units with a sink inside?

The deluxe flushing unit has a foot-pump sink inside. Restroom trailers have running-water sinks.

How many people does one porta potty serve?

One standard porta potty serves about 50 guests for an event of up to 4 hours, or a crew of up to 20 workers for a week between services.

How many porta potties for 100 guests?

A 100-guest event of up to 4 hours needs 2 units. Add 1 if it runs longer than 4 hours and 1 if alcohol is served.

How many porta potties for 150 guests?

A 150-guest event of up to 4 hours needs 3 units. A 5-hour wedding of 150 with a bar needs 5. Try the calculator.

How many porta potties for a crew of 10?

A crew of 10 needs 1 standard unit under OSHA rules, serviced weekly.

How many people does a restroom trailer stall serve?

Each restroom trailer stall serves about 50 to 65 guests at a 4- to 6-hour event.

Is one deluxe flushing unit enough for 100 people?

One deluxe unit covers about 40 guests before its fresh water runs low. For 100 guests, book 3 deluxe units or a 2-stall trailer.

Can you split units across several spots?

Units can go to several drop points at one site, such as race aid stations or fair gates. Send a map with the count for each spot.

Cleaning and servicing

Does the price include cleaning?

Weekly cleaning is included on every 28-day rental. Event units arrive clean and fully stocked.

What does a service visit include?

The driver pumps the tank, cleans and sanitizes the seat, walls and floor, adds fresh deodorizer, and restocks toilet paper and sanitizer.

Can I skip weekly service to save money?

Weekly service is part of every long-term rental, because a unit without it becomes unusable and unsafe within days.

Can I get service twice a week?

Extra service visits can be added for large crews, summer heat or busy events. Each is quoted per visit.

Are event units cleaned during the weekend?

Event units are not serviced mid-event unless you add a visit. Large or multi-day events should add one.

Do you refill water on hand washing stations?

Every service empties the gray water and refills fresh water, soap and paper towels.

Can you pump out a porta potty I own?

We service our own fleet only. Call us if you would rather rent a clean, serviced unit instead.

Placement and access

Where can you put the porta potty?

Anywhere flat and firm within about 15 feet of where the truck can park: a driveway, gravel pad, level lawn or parking lot.

Can it go on a slope?

A gentle slope is fine. Steep ground makes the unit tip, so pick the flattest spot or a driveway.

Can it go in the backyard?

Units can go in a backyard when the gate is at least 4 feet wide and the path is firm and fairly flat.

Will it fit through my side gate?

A standard unit needs about 4 feet of clear gate width. Measure the gate before you book.

Can it go on the street?

Placing a unit on a street or sidewalk needs city approval first. Driveways and private lots need none.

Do I need a permit for a porta potty in Oklahoma City?

Private property placements usually need no permit. Public events need a special event permit from the Oklahoma City Office of Special Events, with restrooms shown on the site map.

Can it be placed near my house?

Keep it at least 10 feet from doors and windows, downwind if possible, and off septic lids and sprinkler heads.

What if it is windy or storm season?

Units on open lots are staked or set beside a structure from March to June. See our storm season placement guide.

Does a restroom trailer need hookups?

A restroom trailer needs a 110-volt, 20-amp outlet and a garden hose, or a generator and the onboard water tank.

My site has a locked gate. What do I do?

Share the gate code when you book or leave the gate open on delivery and service days.

Changes, cancellation and pickup

Can I cancel?

Cancellations are free up to 24 hours before delivery. After that, a trip charge may apply because the truck is already routed.

Can I change my date after booking?

Date changes are free up to 24 hours before delivery, as long as a unit is open for the new date.

Can I add a sink or switch to an ADA unit?

Units can be added or swapped with at least 24 hours' notice, depending on what is in the yard.

How do I schedule pickup?

Call or text (405) 288-7002. Long-term units are picked up on the next route, and billing stops that day.

What happens if the unit gets damaged or tipped?

Call right away and we will fix or replace it on the next route. Damage from vandalism or equipment may be billed. Read the rental terms.

Payment and paperwork

Do I pay in full when I book?

The first event or first 28-day cycle is paid at booking. There is no separate deposit, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before delivery.

What payment do you take?

We take Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and debit cards. Approved business accounts can pay by invoice.

Can I pay cash to the driver?

Drivers do not collect payment. Pay by card when you book, or by invoice on an approved account.

Can someone else pay, like my church or company?

The order can go under a company, church or school name, and the payment link can go to whoever pays.

Can I get a written quote before I pay?

You get a written, itemized quote by text or email. You only pay when you decide to book.

Can you send a certificate of insurance or W-9?

A certificate of insurance and a W-9 are available for contractors and agencies. Ask when you book.

Can you invoice with a PO number?

Approved business accounts can be invoiced with a PO number on each order.

Events, weddings and special uses

What should I rent for an outdoor wedding?

Rent a restroom trailer for more than 100 guests or an evening reception, or deluxe flushing units when there is no power. See wedding restroom rentals.

I want something nicer so guests stay out of my house. What works?

A deluxe flushing unit with a sink, or a restroom trailer, gives guests a clean place to go so they do not need the house.

Can I rent one for a birthday, graduation or baby shower?

Backyard parties are one of our most common rentals. One standard unit covers about 50 guests for 4 hours.

Can I rent porta potties for a funeral or memorial at home?

Units can arrive the day before a memorial or wake. Call before noon for same-day delivery if the date is close.

Can you set up for a race or 5K?

Units can go to start, finish and aid stations. Send a course map with counts at each point.

Can I get units for a park event in Oklahoma City?

Units can go to city parks with an OKC Parks permit. Park restrooms close from October 30 to April 15, so winter events need their own. Contact the Oklahoma City Office of Special Events for larger events.

Do food vendors need hand washing stations?

Food booths need a warm-water hand wash setup under the OCCHD temporary food event rules. Our stations serve guests and crews nearby.

Construction, homes and emergencies

How many porta potties does OSHA require?

OSHA requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, then 1 seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers, under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51.

Can I rent a porta potty for a bathroom remodel?

One standard unit in the driveway covers most remodel crews, billed per 28 days with weekly cleaning. See home remodel rentals.

The contractor told me to rent a porta potty. How does it work?

Call with your address and start date. We place the unit in your driveway, service it weekly and pick it up when you call.

My septic system failed. What do I do?

Call before noon for a same-day unit, and add a hand washing station if your water is off. See same-day delivery.

Our store has no working bathroom. Can you help?

Units and a hand washing station can go in your parking lot the same day. Add an ADA unit for customers.

Can I rent a unit while living in a camper on my land?

A deluxe unit with a sink on a 28-day cycle with weekly service works well while a house is built or repaired.

Do you rent units after storms or for shelters?

Units, hand washing stations and restroom trailers can go to shelters and cleanup sites. Agencies should call for quantities and same-day options.
