Oklahoma City Event Permits: Restroom Checklist
The City of Oklahoma City does not set a required number of porta potties for special events. It does ask to see restrooms on your site map, and other rules decide how many you need and where they go. Here is the checklist.

| Item | Rule or contact | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Restroom count | No city minimum; use 1 per 50 guests for 4 hours | Our sizing method |
| Accessible units | At least 5% per cluster, minimum 1 | 2010 ADA Standards §213.2 |
| Site map | Show restrooms, trash and staging | OKC Office of Special Events |
| Park events Oct 30–Apr 15 | Bring your own units; park restrooms closed | OKC Parks |
| Food booths | 5 gal of 100°F water, hands-free tap | OCCHD |
Does Oklahoma City require porta potties for events?
Oklahoma City does not set a fixed porta potty count for special events. The Oklahoma City Office of Special Events asks for a site map that shows restrooms, trash and staging. Organizers choose the count, and most use 1 unit per 50 guests for a 4-hour event plus accessible units.
What restroom details go on an OKC event permit?
An Oklahoma City event permit site map should show each restroom cluster, the number of units in it, the accessible units, hand washing stations, and the truck route for delivery and service. Mark clusters near entrances and away from food booths and stages.
- Count: guests ÷ 50 for 4 hours, plus add-ons from our calculator
- Accessible units: at least 5% per cluster, never fewer than 1 (2010 ADA Standards §213.2)
- Hand washing: 1 two-sink station per 3 toilets
- Food booths: their own warm-water setup under the OCCHD temporary food event rules
- Truck access: a 10-foot lane to each cluster
Are park restrooms open for my event?
Oklahoma City park pavilion restrooms are winterized from October 30 to April 15, so park events in those months need portable units. In warmer months, park restrooms are often too few for a crowd. Park events also must be accessible to people with disabilities.
Who do I contact in Oklahoma City?
For special events, contact the Office of Special Events at specialevents@okc.gov or (405) 297-2890. For park events, contact OKC Parks at parkevents@okc.gov. Suburbs such as Edmond, Norman and Moore run their own event permit offices, so check with the city where your event takes place.
When your map is ready, send it with your quote request and we will match units to each cluster. See event porta potty rental.
